Our stay was okay.

Excellent food, music, security and outstanding staff. The day administrators were very helpful and reassuring.

The smoke detector and fire alarm went off over ten times in the evening and night and we were concerned as to why we were not informed that this was an ongoing issue, which needed to be resolved. We jumped up each time to see whether or not we need to evacuate the premises. The potential risk for falling was evident whenever it rained due to slippery floor surfaces. The ceiling in the bathroom had an evident leak stain from the roof. We were staying on the third floor. The bathrooms need updating so that seniors can step in and out more easily without risk for falling.

It was quite expensive for 4 star but I did enjoy my stay.

I enjoyed the food as the selection suited my preferred diet, especially the salads and buffets. The gym was good, except both treadmills were out of order. The location was good, and water sports offered were good as included. It was nice to be able to dine around the other Elegant Resorts and restaurants. The food we had in the Italian was very good.

Some of the staff were less helpful than others, particularly in the restaurant. Our first evening we were offered top ups of wine, but this was not offered on subsequent nights. The set dinner menus were not so good.

Nice but needs some money spending on it now.

Great location, watersports good, food was nice also.

Rooms are in desperate need of updating, poor management in the restaurants (especially at breakfast time) regularly no plates, food running out - meaning you have to wait round the buffet area for it to be replenished. Also evening meal was buffet most nights rather than ala carte which (which isn’t great considering the amount of money you pay to stay here).

We had a very nice time and really liked the dine around option offered by the hotel group

Breakfasts were great although things tended to finish and not be plenished. The egg chef Ester is superb, so funny and efficient.

The hotel is a bit tired but under new ownership things should change under Marriott. The beach was a tad worn and eroded from previous visits and the beach staff need to tidy it up and rake it every day like they do at other resorts nearby. When we arrived we ate outside under the covers on the outside decking. This stopped half way thro and we had to eat in the only dining room. Sunbed bagging starts at 06.00hrs with no control...very frustrating.

We noticed a huge difference at the beach since our last...

We noticed a huge difference at the beach since our last visit. It has reduced significantly. Swimming in the sea not so easy because of the nearness of the rocks. It seems other hotels have built jetties out to reduce the erosion. We did enjoy our stay. I always look forward to your Planters’ Punch but they varied so much. Good was good and the others were mediocre or bad. The guy in Daphne’s did not even know what a Planters Punch was and when it came it was a simple rum punch. Not good. Mostly your staff were excellent and we were both pleased and amazed to see Antony, the concierge/porter still there. He is double excellent and ever friendly and helpful as were the lovely ladies at Reception. You have introduced “all inclusive” since we made the booking. I am not sure that is still for us but we shall consider it. We have, over the years, recommended many people to Tamarind - such a lovely setting.

Pleasant stay

Great hotel; not new but well maintained. Friendly personnel and good breakfast with variety of fruits. Spacious rooms, cleaned everyday and even few times per day. Beautiful sandy beach and big territory. Elegant hotels boat let you explore the coastline and watersports is a great bonus as well. Good location. Parking available

Be aware of bottom rocks which may not be seen clearly in stormy weather

Tamarind Hotel

Lovely location for a quite family vacation. Close to several shopping sites - Chattel Village, Limegrove etc. Great ice cream across the street for kids and those with a sweet tooth, and several restaurants next door and across the street. Holetown is accessible by bus and taxi - great for dining out! Water Sports available at the hotel are worth the stay - water skiing, paddle boards, snorkel equipment etc all included and totally worth the price of the hotel. Great family programming for young kids and teens.

Room not fully ready on arrival (wet carpet) and problems with non - working phone had to be resolved. Staff were great however, and worked quickly to address all problems. Carpet changed out in the time it took to report to front desk and walk back to room. Kudos to the front desk for being so responsive and housekeeping for responding on notification of problem.

Very nice hotel, good value.

Very nice hotel, good value. The rooms were nice and spacious. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful helping us organize activities and arrange dinner reservations. Beach is beautiful and not too crowded.

Two small things that could be improved, and outlet in the bathroom- or at least near a mirror. And the staff on the beach could be more helpful in setting up chairs, as well there was supposed to be waitress access on the beach which we didn't see unless we went to the bar or restaurant.

Friendly Staff, Excellent Location, Great Food and Spacious Accommodation

Friendly Staff, this was our 2nd time at the Tamarind and almost everyone remembered my husband and I. The beach was even better this time in March, calm with crystal clear water. We came in October 2018 but the beach was rough due to hurricane season. The food was fabulous, breakfast always had a really big selection and dinner was amazing. The beach was just a few steps outside our room and the pool as well. The room was spacious with a wonderful rain shower, loads of clean towels available as well as lovely toiletries.

Beautiful place for a honeymoon!

The location of the hotel is beautiful and it's secluded enough that there aren't a lot of people wandering up and down the beach, so it's never too crowded. There are plenty of trees (palm & otherwise) around to make you feel like you're in a little slice of heaven. Our room's balcony overlooked the pool and the Caribbean sea, so it was a beautiful sight to wake up to and watch sunset over. The fact that the hotel included water sports in the price made our splurge for the room totally worth it. The staff at Tamarind was super helpful and very nice, always helping us whenever we had questions. Tamarind also offers free parking if you decide to rent a car and explore the island, which came in handy for us. They also helped us organize tours around the island. Lastly, the hotel has a great breakfast included with the stay - there is a regular continental breakfast, as well as an omelet bar and multiple hot food options.

The biggest downside was the fact that our room was rather noisy. Because of the location of our room in the resort, we could always hear the restocking truck come in at 4am and huff & puff until everything was unloaded, half an hour later. Other than that, minor things: The restaurant is a bit pricey but not much over the other nice restaurant options on the island. However, they do feature good musical performances throughout the week which make it worth it. Guests also have to wake up early to reserve a beach chair each morning. It seemed like if you weren't headed down to hold your chair with a book or a towel by 7am, you had no chance of getting a chair. Lastly, the wifi in the room was not so great, although it did work well in the common areas and by the beach/pool.

Polite staff, hotels needs updating

The location was good, very close to the beach. Staff very polite.

Whole resort looking shabby, breakfast was average. Rooms tired and “king” beds very short meaning my feet were over the end so sleeping was uncomfortable. Bathrooms need work, holes in walls where taps have been moved. Lighting in the room insufficient.

Perfect sea activities, other facilities were not enough for the price.

Beach and sea was very nice with fish in different colors and if you are lucky you can swim with turtles too. Hotel is very close to holetown where you can find sth to eat nice food and bars. Sea activities were good. You can do water sports such as snorkelling and canoeing free.

Room cleaning was not good. We found room and cups dirty several times. Breakfast was tasteless. Also we didn’t like meals in the hotel. Hotel area is good but not the best area in Barbados, if you go outside to buy something in the evening some strange people were coming besides asking for money etc. like beggars. Everything was broken or not working in facilities room. And be careful at breakfast because when you leave your plate on the table some birds come and eat yout meal.
